Just like we tried before on the stern, Matt went though the hull with 100 grit flip discs this time to take off any remaining paint and give the slightest shine to it at the moment.

A maroon scrubber wil polish Al to a satin finish. Then use automotive rubbing compound to shine it up. Id be careful of oven cleaner.

Otherwise a chemical stripper will work, but you are going to be scrapping and scrubbing a very long time. Tight places around trim are going to be extremely tough and will require steel wool and small almost dental type tools.

Obviously, aluminum is different than iron, but the lye is non-reactive with most metals. The only thing that keeps it from being practical, is that you really have to keep it wet with the cleaner so it can soak. It wont work if it evaporates.
